Slave Union

Awesome Label/Distro that caters to Emo, Hardcore, and a bit of Grindcore.

Check it out here.

Battle of Wolf 359 - Tour CD

The United Kingdom’s answer to Welcome The Plague Year, Battle of Wolf 359 is intense, atmospheric Emo with duel female/male singers. Haunting interludes bridge gaps between piercing screams and various amusing samples. The last two minutes of the CD display’s this perfectly. Music to get lost in. The CD is short, a mere 9 minutes, and it leaves you wanting so much more. Apparently they are releasing an LP early this year on React With Protest. If you have the opportunity to get your hands on a copy, do it. One of Emo’s best new bands.

Tracklist:
1. It's Not Higher Service, You're Just Dead
2. Cyberdine Systems Model 101, Series 800
3. In Search of Gaia

Tempest - Demo 08

Tempest is Canada's best new band. Period. Hands down. No questions asked.
Brutal, bleak, crushing hardcore the likes of which cannot be fathomed. They released the Demo in November of last year, after playing a handful of shows around western Canada, one of which I was lucky enough to attend. Probably the best band I saw last year. I greatly anticipate an EP or Full-length ( I hear rumors of a 10" ) and another chance to see them live.

Check out their tracks here.

Res Gestae/La Vendetta - In Memoriam split 7"

Two awesome politically-charged hardcore bands from Columbia. Res Gestae are crushing power-violence influenced hardcore, while La Vendetta are more straight up Hardcore punk with duel female/male vocals. The split is dedicated to the memory of Nicolas Neira, a 15 year old killed by Riot police in 2005. A true example of regular people fighting a ruthless government through music. The lyrics are entirely in Columbian but the sheet includes english translations. Contact xTRUEx Records if you want a copy.
